The Aberdeen Fire Department is now accepting applications for the positions of:

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - $15/hour ($16/hour after 200 hours)
IV Technician (EMT/IV-Tech) - $15.50/hour ($16.50/hour after 200 hours)
Paramedic (EMT-P) and Cardiac Rescue Technician (CRT) - $19/hour ($20/hour after 200 hours)

Additional Information:
**Shift Differential Offered for nights and weekends
**Overtime for anything over 40 hrs per week.
**Flexible Shift Options (8 Hour, 12 Hour, 16 Hour, 24 Hour)
**Limited Uniforms/Apparel Provided (Boots, Shirts, Jackets)

Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications.

•A current, valid license or certification from the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems as a Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Cardiac Rescue Technician/EMT-Intermediate (CRT) or Paramedic (EMT-P).

•Must have at least three (3) years of experience in EMS pre-hospital emergency medical care including advanced and basic life support

•Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record

•Must have valid proof of certificate of completion from an emergency vehicle operator course (EVOC) that either meets or exceeds the curriculum of the Maryland Fire & Rescue Institute (MFRI) – EVOC

•Must have a minimum of three (3) years driving and operating an emergency ambulance in a 911 or public safety capacity.

Qualified applicants will be contacted to complete pre-employment testing to include WRITTEN and PRACTICAL exams, consisting of a multiple choice test and a adult mega code scenario.

Applicants who successfully completed the pre-employment testing will be placed on a eligibility list for hire for a period of one year. Applicants with the top scores will be given a conditional offer of employment pending the completion of a criminal background check, drug test, fit for duty physical exam.

Applications period is OPEN & CONTINUOUS.
